A Subscription communication is a type of communication that a customer can opt in or out of receiving, such as newsletters, alerts, or promotions. To receive a Subscription communication, a customer must have an active address contact preference that matches the delivery channel of the communication, such as email, SMS, or postal mail. An address contact preference is a record that links a customer’s address to a contact type and a delivery channel. An address type preference and a person contact preference are not required for a Subscription communication, as they are used for other purposes, such as identifying the primary address or person for a customer. An account contact preference is also not required, as it is used for communications that are related to a specific account, such as bills or notices. References:
