Analytics provide the measurement layer needed to compare actual business execution with expected business-process outcomes. Manufacturing Cloud exposes operational and commercial information across areas such as Sales Agreements, forecasts, accounts, products, targets, service, warranties, and other manufacturing processes, enabling organizations to analyze performance rather than simply execute transactions.
The current Agentforce Manufacturing Professional exam guide explicitly requires consultants, within Validate and Deploy, to monitor and evaluate system performance against defined business process flows and identify deviations or opportunities for improvement. Manufacturing analytics supports that objective by converting operational data into measurable indicators that can highlight variance, trends, underperformance, forecast accuracy, revenue realization, account health, and other business outcomes.
Forecasting and inventory functionality can certainly contribute important operational information, but they address specific business capabilities rather than the broad requirement to monitor performance against process flows. Similarly, ERP integration supplies or synchronizes data but does not itself perform the evaluation.
Analytics is therefore the appropriate mechanism because it allows stakeholders to observe performance metrics, compare expected and actual outcomes, detect deviations, and identify where process or configuration improvements may be required.
