UT have finalized a design for launching sales & self-service channels to enhance user experience. Which two out of box capabilities should UT should use to support customers through multiple channels.
Digital Commerce APIs provide the channel services for offer discovery, configuration, and commerce operations, while the Digital Commerce SDK gives application developers a higher-level programming abstraction over those APIs. Used together, they support consistent multi-channel customer experiences without requiring each web or mobile team to reproduce low-level request handling. The practical benefit is that the solution remains scalable and deterministic as order volume or catalog complexity grows. Custom Lightning Out or generic cart integrations are not the optimized channel layer for high-volume digital catalog browsing. The API/SDK combination is purpose-built for digital self-service and reuse across channels. A design that relies on unnecessary custom code, duplicated catalog records, or manual recovery may work for a small pilot but becomes difficult to operate at telecommunications scale. The standard Salesforce Industries capability provides the expected lifecycle hooks, data ownership, and processing semantics needed for production support. Configuration should therefore be kept as close as possible to the managed feature set, with clear dependencies and explicit conditions so that each transaction produces a predictable commercial and technical result.
