The project manager should activate and follow the organization’s business continuity strategy so critical activities can continue through approved recovery procedures and secure workarounds. This approach is stronger than improvising an alternative meeting platform, which may be unsafe or unauthorized during an active incident. A leadership meeting or client consultation may be required under the continuity and incident-response plans, but neither replaces executing the established response. The project manager should coordinate with cybersecurity, continuity, legal, and executive authorities; protect evidence and data; maintain controlled stakeholder communications; and assess the effect on the acceptance milestone and contractual obligations. Business continuity plans are specifically intended to provide ready actions when disruptive risks occur.
