Mail routing relies on clear paths and address resolution. Invalid DNS entries will prevent the SMTP task from finding external mail servers or the internal relay host. Similarly, missing or incorrect Connection documents will prevent the Router from knowing how to connect to other Domino servers within the internal network. While DAOS and Roaming Profiles are important features, their absence or failure does not stop the primary mail routing engine from functioning.
