The Transaction Snapshot is the correct tool for analyzing detailed external calls associated with a specific Business Transaction. A snapshot captures one execution instance and provides drill-down visibility into the complete transaction path, including database calls, remote service calls, exit calls, call graphs, errors, and timing information.

Within the snapshot, the DB and Remote Services Calls view identifies each downstream dependency invoked during the transaction. The Performance Analyst can examine call duration, number of calls, SQL or database activity where available, remote service destinations, backend response time, and the contribution of each external call to total transaction latency. This makes snapshots particularly effective for determining whether a slow database query or remote service is responsible for degraded Business Transaction performance.

The Business Transaction List provides aggregated transaction metrics but not execution-level external call detail. The Application Dashboard summarizes overall application behavior and dependencies, while the Metric Browser displays time-series metrics without the complete per-transaction call context.
