When custom child-object data must survive assetization and also return to a new transaction during later MACD processing, Object Mapper should be configured in both directions. The line-item child object maps to the asset-side custom object during Order-to-Asset processing, and the reverse mapping recreates or carries the asset-side information back into the transactional structure when Asset-to-Order processing begins. In a Communications Cloud implementation, this pattern provides the cleanest balance of reuse, governance, and runtime efficiency. A one-way mapping preserves the data on the Asset but does not fully support the reverse lifecycle. Field Mapper is not sufficient for moving an entire custom child-object hierarchy. The alternative designs either introduce unnecessary coupling, fail to preserve the required lifecycle state, or move standard platform behavior into bespoke code. Keeping the solution within the documented product, pricing, migration, or orchestration framework also gives operations teams clearer monitoring and recovery paths. For production readiness, the configuration should be exercised with realistic data volumes and representative MACD scenarios so that the behavior remains correct after the initial sale and throughout subsequent service changes.
