Common GI side effects of Valproic Acid and Divalproex Sodium are Weight gain, Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhea, abdominal pain, dyspepsia. Divalproex sodium or valproic acid affects reproductive endocrine function in women. Menstrual irregularities defined as amenorrhea, oligomenorrhea, and prolonged cycles were common.
