Secure Firewall access control evaluates a connection using the destination’s real, untranslated address. For an inbound static NAT connection, the Internet client sends traffic to the mapped public address, but the firewall performs NAT untranslation and evaluates the access control rule against the internal server address. Consequently, a rule containing only the public address will not match as intended. The administrator must replace that public destination with the web server’s internal IP address while retaining the required TCP port and appropriate Allow action. Changing the action to Trust does not correct an address-matching error and would also bypass additional inspection. Disabling intrusion inspection is unrelated, and translating the client’s source address is unnecessary for ordinary inbound static NAT. Therefore, the access control rule must reference the internal, real server address. Cisco NAT and real-address documentation
