Cisco ISE Adaptive Network Control is the remediation module used for Rapid Threat Containment. Secure Firewall Management Center detects malicious activity or a correlation-policy violation and invokes an ANC remediation through the pxGrid integration. Cisco ISE then applies the specified ANC policy to the affected endpoint and can issue a RADIUS Change of Authorization to the relevant network-access device. The resulting action can quarantine the endpoint, restrict its authorization, or clear a previously applied ANC policy. Cisco ISE provides the policy and enforcement infrastructure, but the specific remediation module presented in Secure Firewall Management Center is Cisco ISE Adaptive Network Control. Cisco Secure Endpoint supplies endpoint detection and response telemetry but is not the RTC remediation module described.
