An online discussion board can support knowledge sharing but provides less immediate interpersonal modeling. Instructional video can communicate consistent messages but remains largely one-directional and cannot respond dynamically to learner questions.

Peer learning also strengthens social integration during onboarding because new employees begin forming internal relationships and networks. This social connection can accelerate adjustment and provide informal sources of support after the structured onboarding period ends.
