For a new implementation of SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Private Edition, SAP delivers a set of standard services that focus on preparing and enabling the system for use based on SAP Best Practices. The standard scope provided by SAP includes the provisioning of the system, client setup, and activation of the predefined Best Practices content.
A. Activating SAP Best Practices content in the system
SAP’s standard service package includes the activation of SAP Best Practices content in the system. This ensures that the predefined configuration, process templates, and reference data are available for immediate use. It provides the baseline processes that will be used during fit-to-standard workshops and serves as the foundation for the customer’s implementation project.
B. Implementing customizations to the SAP Best Practices business processes
Implementing customizations or enhancements to SAP Best Practices business processes is outside the scope of SAP’s standard delivery services. Customizations, such as adjusting process flows, adding custom fields, or changing configurations beyond the standard, are performed by the implementation project team or partners, not by SAP as part of the standard setup.
C. Configuring the SAP Best Practices business processes
The configuration of SAP Best Practices content is included as part of the standard services. SAP performs initial configuration activities to make the delivered scope items operational. This configuration covers the essential parameters required to run the standard processes and ensures that the solution operates according to the standard reference setup before any customer-specific adjustments are made.
D. Provisioning a client with the desired client setup alternative
Client provisioning is a core task performed by SAP as part of the standard new implementation service. SAP creates and configures the required system clients (such as development, quality, and production) based on the agreed client setup option. This ensures that the project team has a properly provisioned system landscape to start the configuration and testing phases.
E. Activating required business functions in client 000
Activating business functions in client 000 is not part of the standard services delivered for SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Private Edition. In the S/4HANA environment, many business functions are already active or controlled differently, and manual activation in client 000 is not required as part of the standard SAP-delivered activities.
