A Top N filter is applied to categorical members, so the field being filtered should be a discrete dimension. When a discrete dimension is placed on the Filters shelf in Tableau Desktop, the Filter dialog provides General, Wildcard, Condition, and Top tabs. The Top tab can then retain the top or bottom N members based on an aggregate measure, such as the top 10 customers by SUM(Sales). A continuous measure uses quantitative range filtering rather than the dimension-member Top interface. A table calculation is evaluated later in Tableau’s order of operations and is not the field type used to configure a standard Top N dimension filter. A set can itself be defined using a Top rule, but it is a separate object rather than the required field type for this filter. Therefore, C is correct.
