A custom NDB Software Profile is generated from a database server VM that has already been prepared and registered with NDB. The resulting profile captures the operating-system image and installed database software so that NDB can reproduce a standardized database server during provisioning. NDB does not dynamically retrieve all required operating-system and database binaries from YUM or APT repositories as part of profile creation. Out-of-the-box profiles are supplied and maintained by Nutanix and are not intended to be freely customized in place. A Software Profile is also substantially more than a text file containing runtime parameters; database configuration values belong to Database Parameters Profiles. Therefore, option D correctly describes the construction of a custom Software Profile from an existing NDB-managed database server. NDB User Guide—Software Profiles
