Fast SSID Change allows a wireless client to move promptly from one WLAN or SSID to another without being delayed by the controller’s normal client-session cleanup process. During a dual-SSID BYOD onboarding workflow, a user initially connects to a provisioning SSID to register the device, install or configure the supplicant, and obtain any required certificate. After provisioning is completed, the device must disconnect from the onboarding WLAN and connect to the protected employee SSID. Enabling Fast SSID Change permits this transition without waiting for the previous wireless client entry to age out. User Idle Timeout controls how long an inactive client session remains established. AAA Override permits RADIUS attributes to override WLAN settings such as VLAN or ACL assignments. AP SSID Fallback is not the controller function used to facilitate rapid client movement between the provisioning and employee WLANs.
