Application Load Balancer is a service that operates at the request level (layer 7) and distributes incoming application traffic across multiple targets, such as EC2 instances, containers, Lambda functions, and IP addresses. Application Load Balancer is suitable for applications that need advanced routing capabilities, such as microservices or container-based architectures.
