Access to medical services is a direct determinant of community and occupant health and should therefore be evaluated in a human-impact assessment. The assessment examines how the project may affect people who use the building or live in the surrounding community, including vulnerable populations and groups that may experience unequal access to essential resources. Evaluating healthcare access can reveal whether occupants have reasonable proximity to clinics, hospitals, emergency services, preventive care, and other health-supporting facilities. Transportation access may also influence human outcomes, but the option is framed broadly and does not specifically measure health-service availability. Proximity to manufacturing plants is relevant only when linked to documented exposure, pollution, employment, or environmental-justice concerns. LEED v5 explicitly prioritizes health, resilience, equity, and community quality of life.
